Parody of your typical “Contemporary Evangelical Worship Service”
August 24, 2010
G-d bless our Evangelical Christian brothers and sisters… but this reminds me why I, as Jew, love worshiping G-d the way my ancestors did and do not feel any need to copy what many think is the “perfect worship” for the modern man (or woman). And who, after watching this, can say that Evangelicals do not have their own traditions or “liturgy,” their very own formula for service? Funny stuff!

that was HA-larious!!!
“Feel free to give if you feel led to give. It’s between you and God. But we’re tracking it.”
LOL.
Amusing that the tattoo on the guy’s forearm was Hebrew.
Even more amusing, the tattoo says va’ye-hi – “and it was.” I wonder if the tattoo was intended to be the name of God, but the computer dictionary gave this instead.
I agree, cool glasses are a must.

va’ye-hi could also be rendered as “past” in Hebrew, which matches the words of the “hip guy” who says: “…revealing my tattoo, so you know I have a “past…” meaning he used to be a “sinner.” Which makes perfect sense in the context of this parody video where everything is called literally what it is (e.g. the opening worship song is called “Opening Song.”)
