From commenter on Christian forum: “Why Jews are jealous of Christians”
Saw this today at CARM.org:
[Jews are jealous of Christians] Yes. This has happened since the coming of Christ. Out of envy they killed Christ. The promises of Christianity and Christian doctrine makes them jealous. That is why out of jealousy they produced midrash on the scale of the promises of Christianity, even similar ideas. A sort of wishful thinking. It is out of jealousy that they don’t want to enter into the House (the Christian Church). Just like in the parable of the prodigal son. It is out of jealousy that they are not christians, because of the Gentiles, because there is no jew or gentile in Christ. Out of jealousy that they don’t turn to the Christian Church, because it is ruled by Gentiles. It is out of jealousy on the Orthodox Church that they call themselves Orthodox. The Orthodox Church continuosly provokes them jealousy. Out of jealousy and envy they spit when they see a christian. Out of jealousy when they hear the bells of the Church of Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem that they blow their trompets to call people to prostrate at the wall of the Temple. It is out of jealousy that they hate christians and out of jealousy that they profane Christians sites in the Holy Land and out of jealousy that they attack christian churches. This are your jews. Worst than gypsies. (user: Apologetic)
what a loving fellow
This person is crazy. Has anyone “flamed” him/her yet?
Nevermind, I just went to the comment on the forum and see the person has been suspended or banned. The forum admin should probably remove the post altogether.
Oh, but the guy continues further:
“They are jealous of islam (muslims) also, and very much. Esspecially on arabs, but not as they are of christians. Why are they so jealous of christians?Because of their position, because christianity’s domination is multicultural. Because the dominion of christianity is in the first class races of the world (caucasian, America, Europe). They are jealous of christianity more than islam because the representant of christianity is a jew himself… Loving power and dominion they are jealous of all religions who have power and dominion, islam also… Because we are what they crave for . They are jealous and hate islam because of the Dom in Jerusalem and because they are subminated by them in their own land.This jealousy is ‘hate’… devilish hate… the jealousy of Cain… envy… the envy that killed Christ… And as i said, they are jealous of Christians because of their glory which they seek the most as lovers of the glory of man and because of the peace, blessings and joy which they observe on many christians esp. among the holydays blessings and life..”
The poster is the one with envy and hate issues. As difficult as our lives might be sometimes, they would be much worse if we saw the world like this fellow. He must be someone who never knows peace.
From his comments I can tell that he is most likely Eastern Christian Orthodox /Russian. They sell hardcore antisemitic books right outside of Orthodox churches (often the monks sell them). You can taste a bit of the hell hole that I left behind.
Out of jealousy I’m not a Christian?
Really?
How about out of sheer revulsion … at the dismal example provided by the deeply prideful … and shamelessly boastful … author of such a repugnant article (i.e., “Why Jews are Jealous of Christians”)?
In the Jewish Bible (consisting of the Jewish Older Covenant and the Jewish New Covenant) it is written:
“I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
God has not cast away is people whom He foreknew” (Romans 11:1-2a) [emphasis mine].
and:
“I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealously, salvation has come to the Gentiles.
Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!
For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,
If by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them.
For if the casting away of them is the reconciling of the world, what will the receiving of them be but life from the dead? (Romans 11:15) [emphasis mine].
As can be seen from the above-quoted verses, Rabbi Saul (aka Paul) admonishes the Christians (i.e., Gentile followers of the Jewish Messiah) that salvation had come to them … in order for them … to provoke the Jewish people to jealousy.
That’s a good thing … if it will be used by the Spirit of the Lord … in order to rescue some of the Lord’s Jewish people … who are the brothers of Paul according to the flesh (as well as of the Eternal King of the Jews Himself).
However, the kind of ‘provocation’ that that obnoxious editorial assessment evokes is anything but that!
Rather, it is (and can only be) used by the wicked one … in order to drive a wedge between the Jewish Messiah and His people.
But then, that really ought not to shock either authentic Christians (i.e., Gentile followers of the Jewish Messiah) or Messianic Jews (i.e., Jewish followers of the Jewish Messiah)!
That’s because the Jewish Bible also tells us that satan is able to disguise himself as an angel of light!
And … as amply illustrated by the author of the above-named offensive essay … so too are his ministers!
@Natan
I think you mean Paul rather than the Jewish “newer covenant”. But Gd actually did say he would provoke Israel to jealously in Tanakh.
I think you mean Paul rather than the Jewish “newer covenant”.
Maxine: Actually I didn’t say anything about the “Jewish ‘newer covenant’”.
And so, I’m not sure what you’re referring to …
… I did however post the following … which, I believe (maybe?) comes as close as I am able to … respecting what it is that you are actually referring to:
In the Jewish Bible (consisting of the Jewish Older Covenant and the Jewish New Covenant) it is written:
“I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
God has not cast away is people whom He foreknew” (Romans 11:1-2a) [emphasis mine].
Maxine: And yes, this is what Paul was saying … in the New Covenant! Does this help?
* * * * * * * * *
But Gd actually did say he would provoke Israel to jealously in Tanakh.
Maxine: Yes … He did!
You are the one who is utterly wrong my friend. Revise your history books… the one you call “jesus” was a Jew along with his disciples, his mother, his father, everyone around him was a Jew. Judaism has nothing to request to “christianity”…since “christianity” historically depends on Judaism for a reason to exist, not the other way around. Yehoshua, his real name, said to a rich young man: “Keep the mitzvot (commandments) and you shall live”. If you read your New Testament, you will see that those who write there are JEWS, all of them are JEWS, not a single “christian”. Christiany was developed at the end of the first century by Greek phillosophers, that is why “christianity” has its own festivities, adoration day, book, traditions, etc. Is not the religion practiced by the Rabbi of Nazareth, whom as a Jew I can consider a prophet or even Messiah Ben Yosef or the Suffering Servant according to our oral tradition. You are way off base writing an apollogy for a non kosher religion. The prodigal son is the one from the nations who gets back to his real home: Judaism, not the other way around, Yehoshua said: “I have another fold and I will bring them here (Judaism)”. My friend go back to your Hebrew Roots and the real adoration of the only one: Elohim Tzvaot shel Yisrael. Shalom!
@Natan
It’s a bit confusing, yes, Paul was quoting the new covenant in Ketuvi’im, Paul’s letters weren’t part of the new covenant.
@Roger
Are you sure the other fold Yeshua was mentioning wasn’t something else, like Ephraim?
benicho said “Are you sure the other fold Yeshua was mentioning wasn’t something else, like Ephraim?”
I don’t know, benicho, but Roger does write the following on his site: “We also believe that a “gentile” who believes in Yeshua as his or her Messiah becomes a Jew.”
Nice…. everybody is a Jew now. And how about this gem:
“Yes, we consider that the so called “church” must get back to its Hebrew Roots since we become also Jews with all the rest of the world Jewdry. “
Yeah this is a hard teaching to get across to people coming out of the church because of what Paul says. It takes a long time for some people to understand that being grafted in doesn’t make you part of the natural branch, even though Paul says that explicitly. It comes back on us to be patient… sigh.
“Yes, we consider that the so called “church” must get back to its Hebrew Roots since we become also Jews with all the rest of the world Jewdry. “
If the “church” are really just the believers in the Gd of Israel, what is that saying to Jews while you’ve been promoting “Hebrew roots”?
